PLAYWRIGHTING

Warm Enough for Swimming
4 characters (2W 2M), single set

Mom drowned years ago. Gramma died yesterday. Eddie fled his wedding. And Bridget can’t make coffee. Can estranged siblings clean the living room when the bride arrives with a post-recession pyramid scheme and a Russian gangster stalks their childhood home? It’s warm enough for swimming . . . as long as no one drowns.

"Fringiest of the Fringe" - The New York times

"As much as they try, the well-intentioned friends cannot escape the confines of their privilege. Cino, who based the play on Isak Dinesen's short story "Carnival," has created vivid characters that are fascinating to watch as they wrestle with identity. There are many big ideas woven in about the fairness of capitalism and the distribution of wealth, but Cino ties them so organically to the characters that there isn't a preachy moment in this riveting show."  - THEATERMANIA

"A sure thing . . . Cino is a writer of astonishing versatility and imagination."  - The Villager

"A fascinating piece of work." - NYTheatre.com
